Missed Chances Sink TFC Juniors
(TFC) - Toronto FC’s Junior Academy team fell to a second defeat at the SUM U17 Cup in Houston, losing 3-0 to Chivas USA. The story of the tournament so far for the Junior Reds is missed opportunities and they again failed to capitalize in front of goal as Chivas scored three times in the space of 20 minutes (35’, 45’ and 54’) to win the match.
Chivas USA came out fighting as did Houston Dynamo a day earlier, but this time the Academy boys stepped up and battled Chivas off the pitch. The difference was certainly finishing on the day. A missed penalty, three breakaways and three clear headers from set pieces could have sealed a great performance, but instead Chivas were the ones who snatched their opportunities.
The good play from the second half the night before continued throughout the match against Chivas USA, but in the final third the killer instinct was lacking. >>>

Soft Goal Seals Dallas Draw
(TFC) - The chase for the playoffs will be many things for Toronto FC. Easy won’t be one of them.
Toronto denied themselves an opportunity to take three valuable points Saturday at home, settling for a 1-1 draw with streaking FC Dallas.
The Reds opened the scoring on newly acquired Maicon Santos’ first league goal, but they coughed up the lead—and the win—when Milton Rodriguez leveled on a corner in the 77th minute.
Though the draw stretched Toronto’s undefeated run at home to nine games, the players view the game as a loss. True, the single point moved the Reds up slightly, but the two lost points are killers. >>>

Reds' Streak Snapped
(MLSsoccer.com) - A last-minute penalty kick in stoppage time from Sebastien Le Toux snapped Toronto’s eight-game unbeaten streak and gave the host Philadelphia Union a dramatic 2-1 win on Saturday at PPL Park.
The Union picked up their third win in five matches at home this season and foiled TFC’s impressive run thanks to a late handball from Maxim Usanov on a shot in the box from Jack McInerney. Le Toux coolly converted the ensuing kick for his seventh goal of the season and to erase some bitter memories from a dramatic late loss last week on the same field.
Philadelphia also received the first career MLS goal from Michael Orozco Fiscal, who headed home a Le Toux corner kick in the 61st minute to spice up an at-times sleepy and very steamy match played at temperatures hovering around 95 degrees. >>>
(Ben Knight, MLSSoccer.com) - Fuad Ibrahim knocked in the winner from close range in the 61st minute as Toronto FC defeated the Colorado Rapids, 1-0, on a sunny, cloudless day at BMO Field.
The win extends Toronto's two-month-plus MLS undefeated string to eight games (11 in all competitions). It is also the first win in their current homestand, following consecutive draws against Kansas City, Los Angeles and Houston.
Ibrahim scored for Toronto in the 61st minute, cleaning up a sloppy defensive play in the Colorado area. Chad Barrett's cross was originally met by defender Danny Earls, but he failed to finish the clearance. Ibrahim pounced on the loose ball and neatly buried his shot beyond Pickens. >>>
Anyone for an Encore?
Toronto FC capped of a memorable first season on the 20th of October
with a thrilling come-from-behind draw against the New England Revolution.
Appropriately, Danny Dichio, who scored the first ever TFC goal, added the
other bookend when he looped an injury-time equalizer over the Revolution
keeper.

TFC Remain Winless
Seconds after Maycoll Canizales bungled home TFC’s first
goal in over 13 1/2 hours of MLS play, I received a phone
call in the press box. It was my wife, running late and
calling from the GO station outside the CNE.
'Did they score?' were the first words out of her mouth. She
had heard the roar of the crowd and wanted confirmation.

DC United Add to TFC Misery
An early goal by DC United’s Fred held up against relentless
TFC pressure as the home team fell to it’s 3rd straight
defeat. Toronto is now winless in their last eight league
games and remain in last place in the MLS Eastern
Conference. They now also own the MLS single-season futility
record, not having scored a goal in now 642 consecutive
minutes, or the equivalent of over 7 full games.

TFC Drop Friendly to EPL Side in BMO

Toronto FC faced off against Aston Villa of the English

BMO Field on Wednesday night. Showing no sign of fatigue

a 2-0 before succumbing 4-2 on two late goals by the
visitors.

Toronto FC Crush League Leaders
It was not your typical start for TFC on this home stand. Both teams
came out cautious and possession was fairly even over the first 20 minutes.
Toronto had come out flying in each its two previous games versus New York and
Colorado. However, by half time Toronto was in a familiar position – in the
lead.

TFC Rides Hot Start to Victory at BMO
A scintillating opening 30 minutes that produce two goals
and a half dozen more close calls was enough to power
Toronto FC to a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids at BMO

controlled the midfield, continually broke through the
Colorado defence and shut down their forwards.

TFC Knocks Off MLS Champs
It has taken just two games for Andy Welsh to go from
