Etobicoke Energy Advance in Ontario Cup
 RELEASE - Etobicoke Energy Under 16 Girls soccer team had a successful weekend in Ottawa on July 10 and 11 as they upset the hometown Nepean Hotspurs to win the Ontario Cup tournament round that was hosted by the Ottawa team.
The impressive weekend tally for the Energy girls was three wins, 11 goals scored and none allowed. The highlight of the weekend was a 3-0 win over Nepean which plays one division higher in the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OSYL). That team also boasts three Team Ontario provincial players on their roster. Nepean was clearly favoured to win this group stage of the 2010 Ontario Cup. But the hard working girls from Etobicoke showed great determination and skill to earn the win. The Etobicoke Energy now move on to a quarterfinal match up with the Burlington Heat |
